2018 Search for Excellence Winners

Congratulations to these winners!

Morris Elementary School Greenhouse – This Master Gardeners of North Alabama project at Morris Elementary School teaches students the principles of horticulture, promotes healthy food decisions, and agriculture as a whole.

Raised Bed Gardens at ARC of DeKalb County – The DeKalb County Master Gardeners partnered with the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens), and their Extension Agents to build raised bed gardens at eight ARC group homes and taught the residents how to manage these gardens.

Marshall County CASA/Community Garden – The Marshall County Master Gardeners manage a garden that donates to CASA (Care and Assurance for the Homebound and Elderly). In 2016, they harvested and donated 12,000 lbs. of vegetables.
