{"id":399,"date":"2016-11-01T23:46:18","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T04:46:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/blount\/?p=399"},"modified":"2016-11-02T12:08:58","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T17:08:58","slug":"november-blount-county-master-gardener-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/blount\/november-blount-county-master-gardener-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"November Blount County Master Gardener Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Blount County Master Gardeners met Tuesday\u00a0for their monthly meeting. \u00a0The potluck dinner was great and a large variety of food. \u00a0Yes the master gardeners love to cook good food. \u00a0Renee Thompson, program coordinator, \u00a0with ACES presented the latest Harvest for Health Program. \u00a0The program which connects a Master Gardener with a cancer survivor has just received a five year grant from American Cancer Society. \u00a0The program is a combined effort between ACES and UAB Comprehensive Cancer Program. \u00a0If you know someone that is 65 or over and a cancer survivor please contact Dan at the Oneonta ACES office.<\/p>\n<p>The nominating committee made their recommendations for officers for 2017 and the following slate was elected:<\/p>\n<p>President: \u00a0 Barbara Anderson<\/p>\n<p>Vice President: \u00a0Angela Powers<\/p>\n<p>Secretary: \u00a0Andrea Choron<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer: \u00a0Nancy Deason<\/p>\n<p>The new officers will be installed at the December meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The December meeting will be held at Palisades Park and will be our Christmas Party. \u00a0Be sure and bring some festive dishes and a friend and come and enjoy another year of Master Gardening.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE to all we need help !!!!! \u00a0It is time to decorate Palisades Park again. \u00a0We will meet at the park November 15, 2016 at 9 am and do our decorations in the same area we have been using. \u00a0If you have greenery please bring it we will need a lot. \u00a0If you have ideas please share them with either Francis Gibbs or Harold Deason. \u00a0We will be putting up a lot of lights in the trees this year so bring you ladder and I have the lights. \u00a0Watch the weather report and dress accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Blount County Master Gardeners met Tuesday\u00a0for their monthly meeting. \u00a0The potluck dinner was great and a large variety of food. \u00a0Yes the master gardeners love to cook good food. \u00a0Renee Thompson, program coordinator, \u00a0with ACES presented the latest Harvest for Health Program. \u00a0The program which connects a Master Gardener with a cancer survivor has [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":384,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":true,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.5.1 -
