{"id":17459,"date":"2018-06-04T06:33:26","date_gmt":"2018-06-04T11:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/?p=17459"},"modified":"2018-06-22T17:21:57","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T22:21:57","slug":"peaches-and-cream-dessert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/peaches-and-cream-dessert\/","title":{"rendered":"Peaches and Cream Dessert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This\u00a0 peach dessert was a hit at the recent Extension Support Personnel conference held in Chilton County. \u00a0Linda Hays, a Chilton County Master Gardener, shared her recipe with us.<\/p>\n<h3>PEACHES AND CREAM DESSERT<\/h3>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0a7 8 oz. cream cheese<br \/>\n\uf0a7 8 oz. can Sweetened Condensed Milk<br \/>\n\uf0a7 12 oz. tub Cool Whip<br \/>\n\uf0a7 4 c. fresh peaches, peeled and sliced<br \/>\n\uf0a7 1 c sugar<br \/>\n\uf0a7 4 oz. package peach Jello<br \/>\n\uf0a7 1 c. water<br \/>\n\uf0a7 4 Tbsp. corn starch<br \/>\n\uf0a7 1 regular size package Pecan Sandies cookies<\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<p>Mix 1 c. sugar with peaches and set aside (the juice it makes will be used in Jello mixture). Mix<br \/>\ncornstarch into 1 c. water in saucepan, stir until dissolved. Cook on medium, stirring constantly, until very thick. \u00a0Then add Jello and juice from peaches (no more than 1 cup). Stir well, set aside to cool thoroughly.\u00a0After Jello mixture is completely cooled, add peaches.<\/p>\n<p>Combine softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk with hand mixer till creamy. Gently fold\u00a0in Cool Whip.<\/p>\n<p>Generously grease a 9&#215;13 glass dish with softened butter. Crush cookies (reserving \u00bd c. of crumbs for top) and press\u00a0well into bottom of the buttered dish. Layer 1\/3 of the cream cheese mixture onto crumbs, then \u00bd of\u00a0peach mixture, then 1\/3 of cream cheese mixture, then remaining \u00bd of peach mixture, then remaining\u00a01\/3 of cream cheese mixture. You will have the crust, 3 layers of cream cheese mixture with 2 layers of the\u00a0peach jello mixture in between. \u00a0Sprinkle the top with reserved \u00bd c. of crushed Pecan Sandies cookies. Chill 2 hours or\u00a0overnight.
