{"id":20151,"date":"2021-04-22T15:15:50","date_gmt":"2021-04-22T20:15:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/?p=20151"},"modified":"2021-04-23T10:40:55","modified_gmt":"2021-04-23T15:40:55","slug":"rain-boots-and-april-flowers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/rain-boots-and-april-flowers\/","title":{"rendered":"Rain boots and April Flowers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-text-color has-normal-font-size\" style=\"color:#07527d\">Bright rain boots filled with spring flowers welcomed us to our April Chilton County Master Gardener meeting, thanks to Hospitality leader, Lyn Webb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#165478\"> Congratulations to Intern Joan Crocker, who was awarded her Master Gardener badge and certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-normal-font-size\" style=\"color:#165478\">&nbsp;Mollie Smith, Auburn School of Fisheries manager, presented a program on Aquaponics. She described the system used at AU and also showed how a smaller scale home version could be set up. Fish are grown in tanks and the water is used to water and fertilize plants. The fish, usually Tilapia, are also harvested.
