Tri-County MG Instructors

If you can read this.., thank a teacher!” We all remember a teacher that had a special impact in our lives. The ladies and gentlemen highlighted here are the teachers and mentors for the Alabama Master Gardener Program. Their knowledge, training and experience range from college professors to decades of home gardening. They share their passion for all things horticulture, from Botany to Zoology, and all those -ologies in between. They have developed and will present a superb program of instruction that novice and veteran gardeners alike will enjoy and find both informative and beneficial. Alabama Master Gardener students receive quality training from the very best instructors in the state. These teachers, too, will leave a lasting impression and we thank them for their caring and sharing!

What we do

Master Gardeners are a generous group who volunteer their time to educate their communities, grow vegetable gardens that benefit others, help those who have suffered a loss or damage to their properties, help collect data for Auburn University research, meet the public at various venues to answer gardening questions..; the list goes on. If it is related to horticulture, you might find a Master Gardener there. The following list of articles show Master Gardeners reaching out to help. Please check back regularly because this list of articles is growing. If you have questions, or want to contribute an article, contact us at

The blue bar at the top of the weather link will turn RED when severe weather is forecasted in the area of the Tennessee Valley Research Station at Belle Mina, Alabama.

If there is SEVERE WEATHER in the area we will do our best to notify everyone by email, phone and website if class is cancelled or not. If you are not notified, use your best judgement when deciding whether to attend class. Consider the current weather and forecasted conditions for after class when you would return home, the road conditions, distance you drive, family safety while you are gone, etc.
