With the wonderful spring weather we are all ready to get outside and work in our flower gardens and get the vegetable gardens started. Just be sure to wait until after the last average frost for your area to set out those summer annuals and tender vegetables.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fruits and Nuts&#8211;Start spray program for all fruits. Plant raspberries and blackberries.<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2014\/03\/101_0906.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9461\"><img class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9461\" src=\"http:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2014\/03\/101_0906-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"bright pink azalea\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2014\/03\/101_0906-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2014\/03\/101_0906-250x188.jpg 250w, https:\/\/mg.aces.edu\/chilton\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2014\/03\/101_0906.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Shrubs&#8211;Fertilize azaleas and camellias. When new growth is half-completed, spray all shrubs with a fungicide.<\/li>\n<li>Roses&#8211;Watch for insects and diseases. Remove old flower heads. Plant container-grown plants.<\/li>\n<li>Bulbs&#8211;Plant gladiolus, fancy-leaved caladiums, milk and wine lilies and ginger and gloriosa lilies.<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous&#8211;On camellias and hollies look for scale insects and spray if necessary.
