Alabama Master Gardener training is coordinated and conducted by Auburn University and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Typically two courses are held per year, January-April and August-November. Each course consists of an Orientation meeting and 12 weekly classes. Because of the shorter days and cooler temps, the January-April class is usually a daytime class, 9:00am – 1:00pm. The summer heat makes it more comfortable to have the August-November class in the evening, 5:00pm – 9:00pm. A detailed schedule and syllabus are passed out at the orientation. The cost is $150.00. More information may be found at Alabama MG Program and Master Gardener FAQ . The application form may be found under the Master Gardener Application link in the left sidebar menu.
