Alabama EMG Volunteer Program Purpose

Our purpose is to create a team of collaborative educators. Extension MG volunteers
and Extension agents work together to address local needs using research-based horticulture activities.

Program Requirements

• Receive 50 hours of instruction in gardening practices and pest management
• Participate in 50 hours of asigned volunteer service

Selection Criteria

Participants are selected primarily based on their commitment to volunteering in their communities as an educational outreach of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. A background check is required before starting the program.
